The Complete Steps On How To Verify Your Paypal Account With NexG Card. June 4, 2007

Now many of us already verified our account at Paypal. But there is some bloggers out there (beginner) that still don’t know how to verify their account. They keep asking me thru email and today, I will show them a complete steps on how to do it. So no more emailing for this topic.
This is a quiet long steps. And for all those beginners, hopefully this post may help you. If you are an “expert blogger or webmaster”, please don’t condemn this post or it is better for you to keep your mouth shut. All I wanna do is to help my new friends in Malaysia.
So here it is:
* If you think that you don’t need this steps, just get your own MalaysiaPal. It just cost you $3 dollar or RM10.00.
1. Get your own NexG card.
If you can’t get it at 7 Eleven (depend on your area), just do like what I did. Just walk in to Ambank. Straight to their customer service officer and tell them that you want to buy the card. It’s so simple. If you buy at 7 Eleven, you need to photostat your own IC and after you filled up the form, you have to post it by yourself. But by walk in, eveything is prepared. They will fill in the form for you, they will photostat your IC and the best thing is, they will make sure your form safe under their own responsibility. They will take care the rest. No need to buy an envelope or even a stamp. All you have to do is pay for the card price (RM25.00) and wait the pin number statement to arrive at your home. The card is already in your hand but the pin number is not.

2. Meanwhile, you can read all the terms and agreements that stated in that brochure. You also can use all the free vouchers that has been given in that kit. Or just give it to your friends.
3. After 1 week, please…please..please…… give a call to the hq customer service in KL. You can get the number at the back side of the card (03-2178-8888) and please ask them about your account status. I have to mention this because even the customer service officer is telling you “it will takes about few days” but sometimes, it will take more than 10 days and maybe more than that.
4. After it’s been activated in the system, go to the Ambank ATM machine and put some money in your account. No need to insert your card. Just got to the menu —> deposit —> your card number (16 digits number on your NexG card) —> RM50 —> confirm —> done!.
Note that the amount RM50 is my own amount. Ambank has determined the selected amount for you to top up your NexG card. Remember, this is a Mastercard credit card. It is not a normal ATM card where you can add RM10, RM20 or etc. Read it in the brochure kit. Anyway, you can withdraw your money back later.
5) Why I must add some money in my account at this time?
Even you still not receive any pin number statement from Ambank, you are allowed to add your credit card number (NEXG card) into your PayPal account. You will see a “recommended step” in your Paypal account after you click the accept button.
After adding credit card, please follow belows to verify your account:
Once you have added a credit card to your PayPal account, view the ‘Credit Card’ page in the ‘Profile’ of your PayPal account. If the status of the card is ‘Expanded Use Number Pending’, you will need to start the Expanded Use Process.
Select the credit card you wish to activate.
Click ‘Get Expanded User Number’.
Read the ‘Get Your Expanded Use Number’ page and click ‘Get Expanded
User Number’.
Click ‘Continue’.PayPal will charge your credit card an Expanded Use Fee. The charge will accompany a unique, randomly generated 4-digit Expanded Use Number, which will appear on your next monthly credit card statement.
If you have online access to your credit card activity, it takes approximately 2-3 business days for the Expanded Use Number to appear, depending on the credit card’s issuing bank.
If you do not have online access, you must wait until you receive your statement in the mail to check your 4-digit Expanded Use Number.
If you have added a debit card, your 4-digit Expanded Use Number will be printed on your bank statement next to the charge.
Please note:
The 4-digit Expanded Use Number is NOT the last four digits of your credit card number. So what you use to verify your account is the random generated 4-digit Expanded Use Number on your credit card statement rather than your 16-digit credit card number.
Why you must add the credit card number now (I still don’t get my pin number!)?
Bear with me, I will tell you later.
6. Next, wait for the pin number statement in your mailbox. Within a few days, you will see that statement in your mailbox. Once you got it, you have to confirm your own pin number. The pin number that you got from that statement is only for temporary. So go to the ATM again and change it. Insert your card and key in the temporary pin —> choose the others service menu —> insert your own new pin —> take the receipt —> done.

7. Get your own “WEB PIN NUMBER”. -what is this?-
Web pin number is your online pin number. You will use this number to check your online transaction for your NexG card. Remember! NexG Mastercard (debit card) is an online base service. You will not receive any monthly statement from Ambank like what you got for your Public Bank Debit Card. So create your own web pin number. You must do this as soon as you change your pin number.
Attention! If you need to key in your pin number twice at that ATM machine, just do it because this is Ambank’s secure and safety online terms.
8. Next, get online and go to Ambank website. Point your browser to login —> First time login. Fill in the form and once you finished, you can login to your NexG account. Find the for digit number. It’s located after this mark (PP*). (PP* —-| <—-this is your Paypal verification code).
9. But, if there’s an error… don’t be panic. Please follow this additional steps:
If you see an error said that “we cannot process your account. it’s failed” or something like that…(I forgot already), again… just don’t panic. Make sure you write down your error code (6 digits) and call the HQ customer service center and tell them your problem. They will ask you for the error code. If they can fix it, they will do it at that time. But if the error code start with 99999*, that’s mean Ambank system is in a “MAJOR” maintenance especially for the NexG card inline service. It will take about 2-3 weeks to fix it.
10. So how?
As I said, don’t worry. While you were speaking to the customer service officer on the phone, just ask them for your Paypal code. Tell them that you had one transaction few days ago with Paypal. I’m pretty damn sure they will track down your transaction and finally, write down your 4 digits Paypal verification number.
11. Login to your Paypal account. At the top of your transaction column, you will see a “must do” mark from Paypal.
Once you have received your 4-digit Expanded Use Number, click
Click the ‘Profile’ subtab.
Click “Credit Cards” link under “Financial Information”.
Complete the Expanded Use Process.
Please Note:After you successfully enter your Expanded Use Number, the Expanded Use Fee will be credited to your PayPal account as a bonus. You will receive the bonus in the amount and currency of the Expanded Use Fee in your PayPal account within 24 hours of sending a payment from your PayPal account.
12. It’s done!!!
I know that maybe some of you still don’t know how to verify the paypal account by using the new Bank Islam Prepaid Mastercard, but I’m sure it’s pretty same with NexG procedures..

that’s mean RM36.00/USD12.00 per year. I pay it with my single of payperpost review $12.50…. save cost maaa….
Hi, very useful information…;D I am surprised to find that you can buy buy the card at 7-11. I thought we have to apply for it using documents like what I did to my Public Bank Debit Card many many years ago..this document,that document..very troublesome.

Nowdays, paypal users in Malaysia are more flexible and easier compared to early days of the existence. Paypal is the most popular method used in most online transaction.. not only for eBay (eBay bought paypal)…
I luuuuuuvvvv paypal coz lots of transaction has been done since I satarted on 2002. And I hope there will be more USD or GBP coming into my paypal…
