Inserting Ads Into Your Pages: Illegal? June 26, 2007
Posted by weirdoux in : Netbuzz , trackbackI found this in Slashdot site and I think it’s a good thing to share it here. Maybe some of you already have some experience in this “phenomenon” but for those who still not know about what happened, this is a perfect time to read it.
Has anyone else gotten infected with “Ads by Fair Eagle” ad ware on the computers?
If you do, can you share with us your true experience on how to deal with it?
The main reason for me to higlight this up because it’s a scary thing when you have to face this kind of situation.
Here is a quite that I’ve took from Slashdot:
“Some ISPs are resorting to a new tactic to increase revenue:
inserting advertisements into web pages requested by their end users. They use a transparent web proxy (such as this one) to insert javascript and/or HTML with the ads into pages returned to users. Neither the content providers nor the end-users have been notified that this is taking place, and I’m sure that they weren’t asked for permission either.”
Now tell me your opinion about this.
